“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.”
John 15:10
One important way we can abide in Him and be fruitful is, to abide in His love. What does it mean to abide in His love? Our opening scripture shows us this. When we keep His commandments, we abide in His love. The word ‘Commandment’ does not just refer to the logos or written Word of God. It also refers to the rhema of God, which is God’s instruction or spoken word to you.
Thus, to abide in His love, you ought to keep His instructions or commandments to you. As you study and meditate on His Word, He will give you different instructions. Keeping or doing them, is how you abide in His love.
Therefore, it is important to critically consider all His commandments and instructions to you. Have you been keeping them? It is time to go back to the commandments of God and begin to do them. Also, as you walk with God and He speaks to you, make it a habit to swiftly carry out His instructions or commandments to you.
