BREAKING YOUR FALLOW GROUND

Read in your own language

Jeremiah 4: 3-4

‘For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings’.

Anytime God wanted to visit the children of Israel, He always told them to circumcise their hearts and purify themselves because He is a Holy God. He is of purer eyes than to behold iniquity, the scriptures reveal (Hab.1:13).

As believers, if God must visit us with the rain of His overflowing blessings, then we must break up our fallow ground so that we do not sow amongst thorns. Before the overflow, there must be a sowing and before sowing there must be a tilling of the land so that the seed would not be wasted. We cannot be living in sin and making positive confessions. There must be a holy lifestyle to match up with positive confessions, for results to happen. When you till your land, your words and efforts have greater potency and results.

You can break your fallow ground by uprooting the cares of this life and giving no place tot he lusts of the flesh in your heart. As long as the cares of this world fills your heart, you would not be able to focus on God; no wonder the bible says ‘casting all your care upon him for he careth for you’ I Peter 5:7. You can break your fallow ground today by seeking the Lord, circumcising your heart and purifying your thoughts by the word of God.

Prophecy 1: Lord, circumcise my heart, purge my conscious, and purify my thoughts so that I can seek you more.
