BUILDING CONFIDENCE IN THE PASTORAL MINISTRY

Read in your own language

Matthew 24:24 – For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Without controversy, a lot of people have fallen prey to the deception of false Pastors, which has, in turn, led to the loss of confidence in the Pastoral Ministry. However, it is misleading to conclude that the occurrence of an incidence in one case is a guarantee of its recurrence in another case.

From our opening Scripture, we see that Jesus had already foretold about the invasion of the Church in the last days, by false Prophets, who would disguise as genuine Pastors to deceive many, in order to smear the integrity of the Church and of the Pastoral Ministry. So, we recognize that most of the unfathomable deeds that Pastors have been accused of were actually carried out by false Prophets, who disguised as genuine Pastors. It is only on fewer occasions, that we have seen Pastors who were actually genuine, but fell short of biblical ethics at some point on their assignment. However, all these do not invalidate the existence of genuine Pastors; as the presence of fake products does not invalidate the existence of authentic ones.

Therefore, the Scriptures in 1 John 4:1, admonishes us to try the spirits to find out whether they are of God. And if they are, then we can confidently submit and adhere to their spiritual authority under God, and enjoy the numerous benefits of the Pastoral Ministry. Hallelujah!

The Solomons have a history of revivals in the churches even up to the 1990s. However, new charismatic networks and churches emerged in another wave of spiritual life. Presently, Evangelical and charismatic believers have grown in number across almost all denominations.

Y: We are praying for wisdom upon the government of the Nation to lead the people in peace.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, cause me to walk only in line with Your Word and not by the opinion of men in Jesus’ name.
