September 27, 2023 KNOW THE COMFORTER “John 14:11 And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever;” The word comfort from the Oxford Dictionary means a condition in which someone feels pleasantly relaxed, and relieved of pain or anxiety. A comforter is one who stands by and exhorts or encourages someone. One who comes into a tough or discouraging situation and brings out possibilities. Just as we see in our opening scripture, the Holy Spirit is that comforter that God has given to you to help and comfort you. He may not be seen, but He is at work with you and in you to accomplish your purpose in God. He is sent to you to be a standby and to bring peace into your heart at all times. (John 16:33). Therefore, you never need to look outward for comfort as a believer because the Comforter is on the inside of you seeking to carry out His ministry in your life. Say yes to Him today by fellowshipping with him in worship, and His comfort will flow in you like a river, cooling and refreshing your soul. PRAYER FOR A NATION - POLAND After suffering the loss of one quarter of its population during WWII, Poland struggled to avoid falling into financial ruin under the direction of the Soviet Union. There is a desperate need for evangelical witnesses, with 90% of the municipalities having no church, while Pagan, Wiccan, and New Age religions are gaining followers. Prayer for the Nation: Father in the name of Jesus, pour out your Spirit upon the nation Poland, renew the face of the nation, and revive your Church in her, the name of Jesus. Prayer for the Leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will give the leaders of Poland a heart that seeks You, in Jesus name. Prayer for Israel – (Ps 122:6) Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today, that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen. (Ps 122:6) PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the church will become more conscious and fully involved in the ministry of reconciliation and evangelism, in Jesus name. PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will cause the heart of every unsaved soul in our city to be fertile and prepared to receive the Good News of the gospel that we bring to them, in Jesus name. PROFIT FROM COMMITMENT September 26, 2023 “Luke 16:12 - And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?” One of the ways God tests to see if you are ready for a promotion is to watch your attitude or disposition towards the affairs or business of others. Your prayer or desire for promotion would always give birth to a test; a test of commitment. Do you labour whole-heartedly in another man’s business just as you would have done in yours? Every time God gives you the opportunity to be a part of someone else’s business or work, it is a test of faithfulness. Thus, the right seed to sow in that instance is commitment. After all, our opening scripture makes it clear that God would only reward you with your own estate after you have been adjudged faithful in another man’s assignment. A selfish attitude does not produce favour. Your selfless disposition towards the advancement of a course is an advertisement of your commitment which attracts favour from God and man. Thus, if you want favour in your working place, give yourself to your work. Sow commitment and favour would be yours.
