CONSOLIDATE YOUR PROGRESS

Read in your own language

June 11, 2023

“Scriptural Text:
Hebrews 6:1 (KJV)
“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God”

To consolidate is to make something physically stronger or more stable and firmly established. When we consolidate our progress, we take intentional steps to solidify the growth we have experienced. This is a critical step towards achieving long-term success and fulfillment.

Our opening text today stresses the importance of pressing on to maturity, and not remaining stagnant in faith, establishing that beyond maintaining status quo, every believer ought to continually strive to grow in their understanding of God and deepen their faith in Him.

Just as a farmer must diligently tend to his crops after planting the seeds, you too ought to consolidate on progress made in your spiritual life by seeking to sustain and build upon the victories already attained. This involves reinforcing the spiritual disciplines that contributed to your growth e.g. spending time in prayer and in the Word, serving in your local church, walking in obedience in your daily life, etc. By remaining steadfast in these disciplines, you create a stronger foundation for further growth.

Also, in other areas of your life, beware of complacency or a sense of self-sufficiency that may hinder your progress. Whether it is in your business, career, relationships, or personal development, take deliberate steps to solidify the gains you have made to ensure that you do not remain stagnant or fall below a previously established level of productivity.

Remember that the path of the just is as a shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day (Prov. 4:18). So, your daily discipline to build upon your progress is in line with God’s will for you, and His Spirit is on standby to help you in this process. Why not ask for His help right now!
