DO NOT FORSAKE YOUR PASTOR

Read in your own language

2 Timothy 4:10 – For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

In the journey of Pastoral Ministry, there are usually those who begin the course with a Pastor, but later abandon, quit, desert or reject his Ministry, for their personal or worldly pursuits. Paul, the Apostle had similar experiences, one of which he expressed in our opening Scripture.

Prior to this, in Philemon 1:24, Paul had acknowledged Demas amongst others, as one of his “fellow laborers”, but the story changed in 2 Timothy 4:10, where he expressed that Demas had forsaken him for the love of the world. And this is still true today, as many people forsake their Pastors either because of their love for the world (which includes, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life); or because of temporal challenges, or their desire to attain or acquire things for themselves. How sad!

But if a Church must enjoy the ministry of its Pastor, then they must be willing to stand with him through the trials of life; through thick and thin and remain focused on the assignment. Can you be that person who stands and strives with his Pastor until the completion of his Ministry?

Prophecy 1: Receive the grace to stand with your Pastor always in Jesus’ name.
