NAVIGATE YOUR WAY OUT OF DEBT

Scriptural Text:Proverbs 21:20
“There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it.

One of the reasons many persons are unable to make any meaningful progress is because they live perpetually in debt, what I call the debt zone.  In the debt zone, expenses always exceed income, hence   people in this zone are always in debt, primarily because they are always borrowing.

There is nothing wrong with borrowing to invest if it is done wisely but, the people in the debt zone borrow to meet their needs – they borrow for survival. Some persons are so deep in debt that the paycheck they have not yet received, has already been spent. If you find yourself in this situation, there is hope. You can navigate your way out of this zone by ensuring that your expenses are always below your income.

Begin by learning to save before you spend. Consider your savings as a debt owed and separate it before you begin to spend.  It is also important that you only buy what you need and not just what you want or like.  Your needs are your necessities like housing, electricity bill, etc., while your wants are things that you like but can do without.

Some people are in debt, claiming to be looking for capital investment for their ideas or business, yet they spend tens of thousands yearly on cable television, luxurious cars, vacations, etc,. At a level in life, these things are ‘wants’ that you can cut down. If you will manage your income wisely, you can navigate your way out of the debt zone. Be encouraged, no matter how deep in debt you are, you can come out of it.

  1. My prophet is always on time 💥i just read the actual thing I needed at the particular time of my life more oil sir 💫💫

  2. The topic of debt is something that is needed to be heard daily in a country like Nigeria where the future generation is already in debt by the present government. I pray we come out soon with the help of God-sent leaders.

The part that resonates the most with me is where you save as a matter of debt; that lifestyle is a necessity for any one who will eventually emerge as a successful debt-free individual. I seriously love this topic.

Thank you Sir for this beautiful piece, its for both the past, present and future readers of this devotional.

I have sometimess struggled with abstaining from spending on my wants. Being an aspiring celebrity and fashion model, it’s quite difficult to avoid purchasing certain pieces and accessories I come across with sometimes. Though I’m not trying to live a lifestyle which is beyond my means, but later on, I regret spending on some accessories.. My challenge is, if I eventually stop keeping up to date on my branding, it feels like I’ve bandoned a goal, but this goal actually makes me spend unnecessarily.. Way can I do in such situation?? 🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾🇨🇾
