OFFENCE – A MAJOR HINDRANCE TO MIRACLES

Read in your own language

Mark 6:5 – And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Many a time, Pastors are castigated for not being able to perform miracles, as are expected of them in different places. However, we must remember that even the Lord Jesus experienced the same situation in the course of His Ministry. Our opening Scripture shows us this.

So, while one might wonder how the mighty Son of the living God – Jesus, was not able to do any mighty work apart from healing just a “few” sick folk; the previous verses in Mark 6, show why this happened. Jesus had come into his own country, and as he taught in the synagogue, the people were astonished at the level of wisdom with which He spoke, and the mighty works that he had performed; but immediately they recognized him with familiarity, as the carpenter’s son – someone who they used to know very well, they became offended in him. And of course, offense births unbelief. So, He could not perform any mighty miracle there, in Galilee.

It is important to recognize that this “offense” scenario, has also been the reason why in many cases, truly anointed Pastors, are unable to work great signs amongst God’s people. We must, therefore, guard our hearts with all diligence against every form of offense against Pastors, lest we hinder our own miracles because of offense.

77% of its population is unreached with the Gospel of Christ with Islam as the major religion. An infant Somali Church is emerging amid great tribulation. Somali Christians are despised and heavily persecuted, even martyred, but are also growing in faith and in vision.

Y: We are praying for the right government in the Nation that will cause economic growth and development.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, help me to always see my pastor as one that you have placed over my life to be a blessing to me in Jesus’ name.
