OFFER TO GOD IN REVERENCE

Read in your own language

A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? – Malachi 1:6

The scriptural text today and the verses after, show God expressing sore displeasure at the offerings Israel brought to Him. They offered polluted offerings to Him and He went further to explain the kind of offerings they brought : the blind, lame and sick animals (Malachi 1:7-8). These days even though we do not offer animals, our offerings can still be polluted. When you offer dirty money notes or items that has been rejected by others, or monies that mean nothing to you, such offerings are polluted. You are expected to always prepare and offer to God your best! That’s reverence!

Remember the account of Cain and Abel in the scriptures; they both offered to the Lord but God accepted Abel and his offering while Cain and his offering was rejected (Genesis 4). Abel prepared and honored God with his best, while Cain didn’t. It is therefore very crucial to always examine your heart and the quality of your offerings, to ensure that your offerings are clothed with honor, reverence and deep worship for God.

Examine yourself today, repent before the Lord where you have erred and begin to cultivate and express complete reverence to God in your offerings. Glory to God!

Prophecy 1: Receive grace to honour the Lord with your offerings in Jesus name.

Prophecy 2: As you step out today, may you move from glory to glory in Jesus name.

Action Points

Tonga

Tonga’s rich Christian heritage is a blessing, but has reached the point of oversaturation. The proliferation of denominations generates competition among churches, as newer groups entice believers away. Isolation and the difficult economic situation complicate issues further.

Y: We are praying that effective teaching Ministries who will teach the truth will flood the nation.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, I am sorry for the times I have offered polluted offerings on your altar, I repent today and turn away from such practice in Jesus name.
