Scriptural Text:1Corinthians 9:24-25
“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
An athlete who runs in a race, runs to win a prize. There may be hundreds of people in the race, but The only thing an athlete focuses on is the prize.
He is not distracted by trivial activities; rather, he puts in long hours of practice, and is diligent until the prize is won.
In the same vein, to win this year, it is very important that you focus on the βprizeβ, and work hard until you attain your goal.
Do not just work hard but also work to be the best. This is what qualifies you to win. In every field, there are masters, so choose to be a master in your field or chosen career path. However, mastery comes by being temperate or disciplined in all things, just as our opening scripture said.
Therefore, carry the consciousness daily that you have a prize to win this year. Realize that you cannot go about having fun everyday like some people do. Do not waste your time with unnecessary chitchat . Say NO to any form of distraction. This way, attaining your goals for the year will become a reality. Glory to God!
