 WAIT ON THE LORD

Isaiah 40:31
 “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. ”

Have you ever battled with the feeling of being backward or lagging behind; especially when a counterpart seem to be moving or achieving at a faster rate? Such feelings often leave you depleted, depressed and defeated, and are never the will of God for you.

Our opening scripture today opens our eyes to a powerful secret to bypassing the natural phenomena of weariness, stumbling and falling – the secret of waiting on the Lord. This involves spending time with God, meditating on His word, committing your ways to Him, listening for His voice, so that you may do His bidding. Thus, time spent with God is not a waste. Rather, it gives you divine direction which increases your speed and accuracy in navigation. Glory to God!

God wants you to mount up and soar like the eagles, but it will not be by your own strength. As you wait on Him in the place of fellowship and prayers, He will lift you up by His Spirit and cause you to prosper and advance beyond your wildest imaginations. Halleluyah!

Startup Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, give me the grace and inner strength to wait in your Presence daily until I am lifted by your Spirit into the high places you have ordained for me, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR A NATION – SOUTH SUDAN
South Sudan is the world’s newest country. The nation was born in a great spirit of unity, happiness, and hope. Thank God for freedom from the long, painful domination by the north Sudan which is now mainly Arab and Muslim, while South Sudan is mainly Black and Christian.

Prayer for the nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the Gospel will prevail in this land and many will receive Christ in their hearts, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will raise up ministers who will instruct the leaders of South Sudan in truth, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for your grace upon the church; that it will become more conscious of the spirit, thus exhibiting the fruits of righteousness, in Jesus’ name

PRAYER FOR SOULS/ REVIVAL
Father, you are the Lord of the harvest, therefore we ask, that You will send more labourers into the harvest field, that will bring about, a massive harvest of sous in Jesus’ name.
