Perception is an important factor in the growth of any individual, both in the physical and spiritual realms. What we hear and see informs our learning and largely determines how we think and what we eventually become.

Our opening text today is the very words of the Lord Jesus, stressing the importance of seeing and hearing in the realms of the spirit. Essentially, unless we hear from God and see into what He is doing regarding our lives, we cannot align to His purpose, and we are bound to make mistakes and take the wrong turns in our daily lives.

The Word of God is light (Ps. 119:115), enlightening our spiritual eyes to see and understand God’s purpose for our lives, and by His Spirit, we are guided each day to take steps along that path. Thus, the revelation of God’s Word and the leadership of God’s Spirit are important for the growth of any believer.

Therefore, ask the Lord today to activate your spiritual eyes and ears, and to help you become more perceptive to the leading of His Spirit, as He guides you into making decisions that aligns with His perfect plans and purposes for your life.
