ALMS FAST

Read in your own language

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? – Isaiah 58:7

Our opening scripture reveals to us a kind of fast that unfortunately is the least taught and least practiced today, yet which has the ability to demolish mountains ans activate mind blowing testimonies. It’s like the missing piece of the puzzle; – Alms fasting. Alms fast is a fast dedicated to giving to the poor and needy.

Alms fasting will open you up to higher dimensions of the blessings of God. Many believers give to God and tithe but never seem to make progress because they have not triggered the blessing that should accompany their tithing, by giving to the poor. The tithe is like the explosive or bomb while alms is like the trigger that detonates the bomb. So we see that without giving to the poor, the effect of your tithe can and will be hindered.  A nonchalant attitude towards the poor will hurt your finances as a believer.

When you give to the needy as led by the Spirit of God, the Lord promises to preserve, bless and deliver you from your enemies (Psalm 41:1-2). If you have neglected this aspect, you need to repent and begin to engage in Spirit-led alms giving. In specific cases where you are pressing for a breakthrough, you can do an alms fast; which means you will deprive yourself and give to the poor for a specific period of time. This may be the trigger for the blessing you have been waiting for. Halleluyah!
