SCRIPTURAL TEXT: COLOSSIANS 1:16
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
September 22th
Today’s text was written by Apostle Paul to the Christians in Colossae. It speaks of how God created all things by Christ, holds all things together in Christ, and reconciles all things to himself through Christ. The concept of our scriptural text is giving all the glory to God. This passage brings us to the vastness of Christ’s identity. Christ is God’s visible image. He predates all creation and reigns supreme over it all.
By His obedience to die on the cross, His glory was made manifest to all creation. God reconciled everything to Him. (Colossians 1:18-20). Reconciliation means to restore. If something needs to be reconciled then something must be out of order. We realize the unfathomable vastness of God’s power and passion for people when we make Christ the focus of our world.
Thus, let this thought capture your heart-“it is not all about me” It is about all the other billions of people in the world. Decide to be an ambassador for Christ the King as you set out today, and reach out to those in your sphere
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, help me to reconcile men to you in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR KYRGYZSTAN
57% are unreached with the Gospel. The government of Kyrgyzstan needs courage, resources, and even miracles to right the economy and society in general. The regimes subsequent to Communism have thus brought about only greater corruption, crime, and poverty.
Y: We are praying for the church in Kyrgyzstan that they will be a force to bring about change in the nation
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)
PRAYER FOR NATIONS/LEADERS
We pray that you would surround the President with sound and wise counsel to direct him as he leads the nation towards peace and prosperity.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6).
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we remove every veil covering the eyes of the people in our city from accepting Jesus as Lord over their lives
