SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1Kings 11:9
And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the
LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice
In the journey of life, it is not enough to start out on the right footing; it matters even more to complete what you have started and to finish well. The scriptures establish that that the end of a thing is better than the beginning thereof (Ecclesiastes 7:8). Our scriptural text today, records a sad account of King Solomon,
who having started with a perfect heart towards God, eventually succumbed to pressure and departed from the living God to his own detriment.
This is a great lesson to us today. Some believers are passionate about the things of God only when they are in need.
However, they quickly get distracted and are unable to sustain their commitment to the things of God, when they experience a breakthrough. This breaks the Father’s heart. God is bigger than any blessing or breakthrough you will ever receive. In fact, He is the Source of every good and perfect gift, as such, your commitment must be to Him and not His gifts.
So, in working towards your desired goals this year, let nothing deter your focus from pleasing God and seeking him the more. Do not abandon your projects or your commitment half way through. Jesus revealed that the
man who places his hands on the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62). So,
resolve to stay focused and you will finish well! Halleluyah!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, help me to put my focus on you throughout this year in Jesus name

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

Tswanas are Christians by name mostly as there is widespread of immorality, drunkenness including a high proportion of illegitimate children. Botswana has the world’s second-highest prevalence of AIDS after Swaziland.
1. We are praying for the Christians in Botswana that they will shine as light and live an exemplary life to the world around them.
2. We pray against wrong advisors to the President, may all their demonic-inspired counsel be exposed and destroyed in Jesus name.

Father in the name of Jesus, we break every stronghold keeping the people in our city bound to darkness, we set them free by the power of the Holy Ghost.
