One of the mindsets that make many persons fail is the mindset that one day, they will suddenly become wealthy. This is often called the lottery mentality.

While it is good to expect the best and think positively, people with this mindset believe everything will just change, or that something will just happen that will make them wealthy, without any sort of work or input from them. In other words, they have no part to play in their own success.

Almost everyone who has this mindset remains poor or stays in the same level, because in reality, nothing works without a worker.

Sadly, some Charismatic or Pentecostal believers have this mindset. They claim to be acting in faith, but it is not faith – it is hope, and hope does not guarantee wealth, only faith backed by action does. (James 2:17).

According to our opening text, God is ready to bless you, but He wants to bless the works of your hands. In other words, he wants to bless or empower your business, job, or endeavour.

Therefore, get to work on your dreams and aspirations. Whatever you have set your heart to do, do it well (Ecclesiastes 9:10). As you focus on it, the blessing of God will rest on it and cause it to succeed.

1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will pour out your Spirit and renew the face of the nation, that all her inhabitants may see and give you glory, in the name of Jesus.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Dear Lord, give the leaders of Montserrat the spirit of wisdom, that they will rely on you, as they rebuild the nation, in the name of Jesus.
