“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
As believers, we sometimes make mistakes at different times in our lives. But, it takes humility to acknowledge our shortcomings and to repent. The proud, on the contrary, is always right in his own eyes (Proverbs 12:15), and therefore, he never sees the need to engage in repentance. Such a man, according to the Scriptures, is an abomination to the Lord. (Proverbs 16:5).
However, in our opening Scripture, the Lord says that if we would humble ourselves and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.
So, if you sin, turn to the Lord in repentance, out of the brokenness and contriteness of your heart, and He will hear your prayers. He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). How amazing! Glory to God!
