When Jesus came to die for our sins, he brought us into the new covenant and took us out of the path of condemnation. We are no longer under the curse of the law but under grace. This however does not exclude us from living godly lives in Christ. Even though we are now under the grace of Jesus, we ought to demonstrate our love for Him by obeying His instructions, not just as a matter of duty but out of our affection for Him.
From our opening text, we see that Jesus identifies our love for Him by our acts of obedience to His Words. He proved His own love for the Father, and invariably for us, by obeying the will of the Father to sacrifice His very life and die on a cross for our redemption. He did not do this grudgingly, but because He really loved the Father and He knew the Father loved Him. This is the pattern of love-walk and obedience we have been called into as believers.
Today, you probably might have been battling with the call to walk in obedience considering adverse situations around you or certain prayers that seem yet unanswered. Knowing God’s immeasurable and unfailing love for you, you must choose to walk in obedience not for any other reason but simply because of your love for Him. Glory to God!
Prophecy 1: Receive grace to fully walk in obedience to His instruction in Jesus name.
