It is the culture of the world to live in ways that oppose the teachings and values in the word of God. The ways of the world, and sadly some believers, depicts a life of rebellion and self worship; one that gratifies all their fleshly desires and one that is only concerned with their opinion rather than God’s opinion and way of doing things. This however is not the case with those who fear God.
From our scriptural text, we see that the people did not fear God, but abandoned the house of God and went about their own activities. This action displeased God and the consequences are stated – “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? says the LORD of hosts- because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house” (Haggai 1:9) . Did you see that? They were disadvantaged when they became concerned with themselves only and not the house of God. The bible also records that when the people returned and obeyed God, it was recorded that they feared God and God promised to bless them.
The fear of God means that your concerns and opinions are drawn and motivated by God’s opinion and concerns; thus you are poised to always obey what God wants above what you want. Are you concerned with God’s concern and opinion? Set your heart to do so today as this sets you apart in the earth as one that fears God.
Prophecy 1: Receive grace to walk in total obedience to His word in Jesus name.
Prophecy 2: As you step out today, may you be lifted high above every challenge of life in Jesus name.

W: Consider how obedient you have been to the instructions in the word, if poor, then be determined to walk in obedience to His voice always.
