Your emotional participation in thanksgiving is paramount to your thanksgiving being accepted or rejected. The text above shows us how God wants to meet you; not with a gloom on your face, or complains on your lips or even murmuring!. He wants to meet you rejoicing.
Certain schools of thought believe that when people have a sad look on, it is natural to get empathy from others. This is not so with God. God meets those that rejoice, as our scriptural text shows us. It takes faith to get God’s attention and rejoicing is an act of faith.
Rejoice in the Lord therefore, revisit the works of His hands in time past. Celebrate His awesomeness and the great things He has wrought around you. When you fill your heart with such testimonies, your heart would be gladdened and streams of joy would spring forth from within you. Halleluyah!!!
