Sometimes, the reason we do not receive from God, or enter the harvest He sets before us, is that we hold certain mindsets or notions that are untrue. Such perspectives may have been formed over time through our interaction with our environment and the people in our lives, yet hindering us from yielding to the will of God for our lives.

For instance, just as our opening text shows us, it took the voice of God’s Spirit to make Peter put off his pre-conceived notion about the Gentiles, so that he may yield to God’s plan regarding their salvation. For some of us, it may be the way we see others, or a particular way of thinking that stops us from fully yielding to God’s will.

However, as we study the Word, the Spirit of God will begin to point such areas to us, confirming through visions at other times, and nudging us to yield to God’s mind about the subject, so we can align our thoughts and action to God’s purpose.

Therefore, it is important that you do not just study the Word for the sake of it, but to carefully listen as God’s Spirit shows you what you must do, and especially areas that you must allow the Word to supersede your own thinking, so that God’s will may come into full manifestation in your life.
