The body is a complex machine specially designed by God. Just like normal machines suffer wear and tear, your body goes through the same. As you exert your body on work, the cells and tissues start to work until sometimes you get to a point of exhaustion.

Many have gone ahead to stretch their bodies beyond normal limits to achieve something. In the long run, their body’s ability to function at the utmost capacity diminishes. This should not be so.

God who made the human body, instituted a sabbath for us, showing us a principle, and an instruction – to rest and not overuse the body. Rest is so important that our bodies call for it every single day through night rest. It is natural to rest after work, but because of the rapid changes in the economic life in the nations of the world, humans have increased their rate of toiling to be able to meet up with the demands of life.

Thus, we use our bodies to acquire all the ‘good things of life’ and spend all these things in trying to fix our bodies in the end. That is rather unfortunate. Resting time should be prioritized, so that the body may rejuvenate itself.

If you want to live a long, healthy and productive life, your work time must be as important as your rest time.
