THE ATTITUDE OF OBEDIENCE

THE ATTITUDE OF OBEDIENCE

I made haste, and did not delay to keep Your commandments. Psalm 119:60

The speed with which you obey God’s instructions (whether from His Word or through His servants) is a reflection of the degree to which you fear God. Partial or delayed obedience is disobedience.

Abraham and King Saul are two examples we can learn from. In Genesis 22; God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac and the Bible records that Abraham got up early the next morning; without even conferring with his wife, he took his son and proceeded on the journey. He would have actually sacrificed Isaac, if God hadn’t stopped him! King Saul, on the other hand, partially obeyed God; God asked him to completely destroy the Amalekites- instead, he kept King Agag alive and also the best of the cattle. This made God reject him and take the kingdom from him. ( 1Samuel 15)

Abraham’s quick obedience brought God’s blessing on him and the whole earth. According to God’s standard, your promptness to obey, irrespective of your feeling or opinion, is key. Therefore, take heed and align yourself with this practice which gets God’s attention and you will surely be blessed even as Abraham was.

Prophecy 1: Receive grace for quick and prompt obedience in Jesus name.

Prophecy 2: As you step out today, may unusual grace rest on you in Jesus name.

Action Points

W: Ask God for grace to act like Abraham always. Meditate on how Abraham responded to God’s instruction to him.

X: I decree and I declare that I walk by faith and not by sight today

99% of its populace are Muslims. In earlier centuries the Christian Church was widespread but Schism, heresy and failures to translate the Bible into local languages resulted in foreign invasions and finally Islam took over. There are about 500 committed indigenous believers today, but only one-third of those meet together regularly for worship.

Y: We are praying that the Bible and Christian books might become more widely distributed and available throughout the land.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, I ask for grace to promptly act upon your word as you instruct me, I refuse delayed obedience in my life in Jesus name
