THE ATTITUDE OF REPENTANCE.

Read in your own language

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”

Psalm 51:17

While we aspire towards the admirable achievements of King David that we see in the Scriptures, it is important to note that just like everyone else, King David had weaknesses. In fact, very obvious ones. But, he apparently also had a secret – he was a man of brokenness.

Despite the mistakes he made, He understood that the sacrifices of God in the place of repentance are not in bulls and rams and sackcloth but in brokenness and contriteness of heart. When Samuel spoke to him from the Lord after he sinned greatly by killing Uriah and taking his wife, he went to God in brokenness. (2Samuel 12). And he was forgiven and found favor before the Lord. This is the right attitude of repentance.

Your sacrifices cannot cover your sins. You have to go to God with brokenness and contriteness of heart and repent. No sin is too big for God to forgive. So, take time out today and repent of your errors as the Holy Spirit will lead you.

Prophecy 1: May the Holy Spirit work within you a broken and contrite heart in Jesus’ name.

Prophecy 2: As you step out today, may your joy be full as a river in Jesus’ name.

Y: We are praying for economic development and progress in the nation.

Startup Prayer:

Dear Father, I ask for the grace to accept my wrong when I am corrected in Jesus’ name.
