THE COMMANDMENT TO OBEY

Read in your own language

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastical 12:13-14

We live in a world where people live and do things based on desires; constantly seeking to please men and their fleshly desires rather than God. This way of living often feels good and attractive to many, but it sure always end up in destruction, emptiness and loss.

Our opening text lends us great understanding on the summary of man’s duty as a created being- to fear God and to obey His Words. Fearing God and obeying His commandments begins with understanding that you are a created being; you are not your own, thus you belong to God. The very breathe in your nostrils is God’s. The very life within you was leased to you by Him, and you have been bought with a price – the precious blood of Jesus.  You therefore owe it to Him to live your life in utmost submission and obedience.

In addition, knowing that God will judge every man for his works (whether good or evil), and that nothing can be hidden from His sight, it should be your life-long default to fear God and obey His commandments. This is your responsibility, your very essence.

99% of its populace are Muslims. In earlier centuries the Christian Church was widespread but Schism, heresy and failures to translate the Bible into local languages resulted in foreign invasions and finally Islam took over. There are about 500 committed indigenous believers today, but only one-third of those meet together regularly for worship.

Y: We are praying that a living, growing Church might become a reality again in this land.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, I vow to obey your every instruction, strengthen me oh lord not to fall short of this in Jesus name.
