THE NEED FOR PASTORS

Read in your own language

Jeremiah 3:15 – And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Irrespective of what the world has to say, the necessity of Pastors in the Church cannot be overemphasized, because the Pastor is the one given authority by God to care for His own sheep, whom He purchased by the blood of His Son, Jesus.

This is why the Lord is committed to giving His sheep Pastors after His own heart, who will feed them with knowledge and understanding, as our opening Scripture shows. So, the Pastor operates as a rock to strengthen and establish souls in the way of Christ; as a teacher to enlighten and develop the Church; as the fortress or fortification of the Church; as the wisdom and counsel bank for providing direction to Church members; and as a deliverer and shield for the Church in times of attack. What an office!

Hence, the relevance of a Pastor in the Church cannot be underestimated; or, would you rather imagine a Church without a Pastor to perform all these functions? So, let us learn to acknowledge and appreciate Pastors for the vital functions they play in the Church, without which the Church will be ineffective. Glory to God!

Prophecy 1: Receive the grace to stand with your pastor always in Jesus’ name.

Prophecy 2: As you step out today, may the Lord perfect all that concerns you in Jesus’ name.

Action Points

W: With the understanding of how valuable a pastor is, begin to relate with your pastor differently by praying for him, giving to him, and standing by him.

X: I decree and I declare nothing can take the place of God in my life!

Somalia

77% of its population is unreached with the Gospel of Christ with Islam as the major religion. An infant Somali Church is emerging amid great tribulation. Somali Christians are despised and heavily persecuted, even martyred, but are also growing in faith and in vision.

Y: We are praying for the churches in Somali that they will be a force in the nation.

Startup Prayer: Dear Father, I pray that you will strengthen and protect my pastor in Jesus’ name.
