TAKE ON THE IMAGE OF GOD

“2Corinthians 3:18 – “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.””

It is quite possible for two individuals to have the same likeness and yet maintain different personalities. This is because a man’s personality consists of his looks and his response, which together is referred to as his image. In the same way, just as salvation restores man to the likeness of God, it is fellowship with Jesus that gives him God’s image, bringing the believer into total conformity to the image and likeness of God.

God’s design is for every believer to be like Him, not just in nature but also in character, and our opening text today shows us how He has planned for this to become a reality. He wants us to be conformed to Jesus Christ, who the Bible says is the express representation of His look and behaviour (Heb. 1:2). This is learning to respond like God, to walk like Him, talk like Him and get the same results as He would get. Glory to God!

Our primary reason therefore for meditating on God’s Word is so we might take up His image as we learn and imbibe His character until we can subdue the world, the flesh and the devil just like our Father would. This is the essence of our Christian walk; it should be your focus today as you spend time studying and meditating the Word of God. Halleluyah!

PRAYER FOR A NATION – RWANDA
Rwanda has made great progress in many areas since the tragic events of 1994-1995. The nation’s infrastructure was greatly brutalized during the conflicts but political stability since 2000 has allowed for rebuilding and developing of the economy. Rwanda is now one of the fastest growing country economically in Africa.

Prayer for the Nation:
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that You pour out your Spirit mightily upon the unreached parts of this nation, and that many will come to know the Lord and be saved, in Jesus Name.

Prayer for the Leaders:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that you will raise up ministers in this nation, who will instruct the leaders in the truth, in Jesus name.

Prayer for Israel – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask today, that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen. (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of conflicts and misunderstanding in the church, and we ask for grace to stand together in unity, in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the voice of the Spirit will become clearer to all missionaries and labourers in the harvest field, thus, leading them to the right souls, in Jesus name.
